A little while back I saw this, Birthday Giving Project by Family to Family. It’s purpose is to provide a small “party in a box” for a child in need. I knew from the minute I saw it that Claire would want to be involved.

And of course she did.

The first thing we did was email Family to Family for a drop off location or address to ship to. Then we picked a child’s age and gender to make a box for. (Claire chose a little girl, age 6.)

Next, we started gathering things for her “birthday box”…cake mix, some frosting, cookies mix, candles, plates, napkins, utensils, table cloth, decorations (made by Claire!) and of course a gift. IMG_3485

After that, Claire decorated the box and add the items. She also included a birthday card she made. Then we labeled it and sent it off.

I wish I’d gotten a photo of Claire’s homemade decorations. It was her first time using our die cutter. She made so many butterflies to string together I thought we’d run out of scrapbook paper lol. I just know the little girl (wherever she may be) is going to love them.
