For the last few days I’ve had a serious lack of motivation. I’m consistently meeting/exceeding my Fitbit goals and I’m losing weight… But, I’m forcing it. Which isn’t ideal. When it’s time for Claire and I to do our Family Fitness Challenge, I struggle to muster “real” enthusiasm. And I hate that.  Especially on days like today, where we wait until I get off work.

By 5:30pm the sun is almost down and I’m pretty wiped out from homeschooling and daycare duties.

Today,  as I debated just flopping on the couch and calling it a day, Claire came over and said, “Is your day, not a walk in the park?” — We discussed the meaning of this phrase earlier this week. Clearly she was eager to use it. I’m so glad she did. It was just the kick in the pants I needed.

No, today was not a walk in the park. Most days aren’t. Life is exhausting. But it’s also wonderful. And in honor of that…and my darling daughter…we took a walk in the park.
